Community Eco-Education Program

National environmental literacy program targeting school children and community leaders across some districts.

The National Environmental Literacy Program is a community-based awareness and education initiative designed to improve environmental knowledge, climate responsibility, and sustainable practices among school children and community leaders across selected districts of Bangladesh.

The program will focus on building awareness about climate change, environmental conservation, waste management, biodiversity protection, disaster risk reduction, water conservation, tree plantation, and sustainable living practices. Through school-based activities, community workshops, awareness campaigns, field visits, and hands-on learning sessions, the program will encourage young students and local leaders to become active participants in protecting the environment.

School children will be engaged through interactive learning, eco-club activities, drawing and quiz competitions, tree plantation programs, and practical demonstrations on waste segregation and recycling. Community leaders, teachers, local representatives, youth volunteers, and religious/social leaders will be trained to promote environmental awareness and guide local communities toward climate-resilient and eco-friendly practices.

The program aims to create environmentally responsible citizens, strengthen community participation, and support national efforts toward a cleaner, greener, and more climate-resilient Bangladesh.
